Daily Check

Daily indoor & outdoor checklists are completed by teachers every morning to ensure the safety of the children we serve. When evaluating your area, be sure to look at the environment from the child’s perspective

Custodial staff will refer to this custodial daily checklist when cleaning the facility

Monthly Fire & Earth Quake Drill

Fire & Earth Quake drills, along with checking the smoke detector is completed monthly

Annual Health & Safety Screener

Annually, prior to the start of class the Health & Safety Screener must be completed.

  • Using the screener:

    • Mark each item in the screening form In Compliance or Out of Compliance. Provide descriptions for items marked “Out of Compliance”

    • Determine issues, priorities & those responsible for actions & improvements within each classroom

Suspected Child Abuse Reporting

Staff must report any instance in which there is reasonable cause to believe that child abuse and/or neglect has occurred to the Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services, and/or police as required by state and local laws.

Pesticide Requirement

A pesticide warning sign must be visible to all persons entering the treated area and shall be posted 24 hours before the application and remain posted until 72 hours after the application.

In case of a pest control emergency, the warning sign shall be posted immediately upon application and shall remain posted until 72 hours after the application.

Maintain a binder with the pesticide application notices.
